RMAC visited to the Ronald McDonald House in Manhattan - Jan. 7, 2012
The RMAC Student Committee and RMAC alumni attending Berklee College of Music had their annual trip to The House.   Ridgefield's First Selectman, Rudy Marconi, accompanied them this year.


RMAC Collegiate Reunion - Dec. 7, 2011
RMAC  held its first event dedicated entirely to college students at St. Andrew's Church in Ridgefield. Seven students performed before a crowd of 70 people. 




Rico, a 7th grade student from SRMS, made this wooden sign for RMAC.  It was made from scraps of wood and stands about 2 feet tall and 4 feet wide.  He presented it to Mrs. Haines, president of RMAC, the evening of the Showcase of the Arts on Dec. 7th.

Dec. 7, 2011

Fifty five students were involved with this show.  They participated on-stage singing, acting, dancing, and playing instruments.  They were involved off-stage as part of sound crew, making brochures and posters, selling tickets, and working at the bake sale.  The event was a huge success!


RMAC 'n Cheese -  Dec. 2, 2011
A dozen acts included over 20 students in this popular event in its third year.  The live music included jazz, folk, pop, rock, originals, and holiday music.  The fire pit provided a nice place to roast marshmallows and the Genoa mac 'n cheese was sold out!  Below is a glimpse of the night.  Thanks to Wayne Addessi of Addessi Jewelers for sponsoring this event.




Acoustic Cafe - Nov.  18, 2011
A dozen acts included over 20 students in this new event.  Students performed before a crowd of 50 people.  Below are some photos from the event.


Art & Photography Exhibit - Dayton Program Room, Ridgefield Library - Oct. 2011
Student Exhibitors included:  Maddie Wroblewski, Catherine Heller, Catherine Bradley, Cole Butchen, Shyenne Rising, Jonathan Schickler, and Katherine Oulette.  Student musicians for the Artist Opening Reception were Maddie Wroblewski and Emily Kerr on violin.

4th Annual Open Mic Night 2011 was held on Sept. 16, 2011. Twenty-five students participated before an audience of over 75 people.  Thanks to the Enchanted Garden Conservatory for use of their facility for our event and to the NCL for their baked goods.


Photo Scavenger Hunt - A challenge was presented to photograph four items:  something loud, something bright, something linear, and something different.  Many creative entries were submitted.

Music Fest 2011 was another huge success.  Thirty-four musical groups performed on four stages throughout Ballard Park and on Main Street.

Here are the numbers for this free annual concert for our community:
93 performers (in the 34 groups)
 8 MCs
 4 Stage Managers
 4 Sound Technicians
40 student volunteers for manning tables, setup and clean up
40 adult volunteers (RMAC Board members, parent volunteers, NCL parents)

Thanks to all those who participated and to the hundreds and hundreds who attended and enjoyed an afternoon of music.

CONGRATULATIONS TO..... 

          RMAC Student Reps. Amanda and Allyson Ehrlickman recently traveled to Riesa, Germany with the U.S.A. Tap Team to compete in the International Dance Organization World Tap Dance Championships.  Amanda, a senior at Ridgefield High School, placed sixth in the Adult female solo category.  Allyson, an eighth grade student at Scotts Ridge Middle School ranked sixth in the Junior female solo category.  Allyson and Amanda also placed 12th in the Adult duet category for their routine "Loco Motives".
          This event, attended by tap dancers from fifteen countries, was judged by officials from Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Russian Federation, Slovenia and the United States.

Twenty four student musical groups performed on two stages during the second annual Music Fest kicking off Memorial Day weekend.  Over 1,000 guests enjoyed the 5  hour concert throughout the afternoon.




Guitar Jam
April 8, 2010
Ridgefield Recreation Center

Professional musician Roger Filgate joined RMAC to lead the guitar jam.  Roger has played in numerous bands from New York to Los Angeles. During the ’90s he joined the legendary British rock group, Wishbone Ash. Having recorded several albums including fan favorite “Illuminations,” as both guitarist and songwriter, he toured the world extensively. This led to sharing the stage with such artists as: Santana, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Guns & Roses, Yes, Blue Oyster Cult, and many more.

RMAC thanks Roger for sharing his time and expertise with our students.

Hot Beverage and Bake Sale   '07

The RMAC Student Committee hosted a Hot Beverage and Bake Sale along
Main Street on Saturday, December, 8, 1007.


Eve of the Arts

The gala at Bernard's Restaurant on Sept. 30, 2007 was a huge success. Supporters were treated to entertainment, great food provided by Bernard's Restaurant, wine from Cellar XV, and a live and silent auction. First Selectman Rudy Marconi announced that the Price family, owners of Ridgefield Supply, will donate the original Ridgefield railroad station, which sits on its property, to house RMAC. The station was built in 1870 and will be renovated to preserve the integrity of the history of the building on the outside, while creating a state-of-the-art performance venue on the inside.



Band Bash '07

The RMAC student committee planned and ran a fund raising concert at the Ridgefield Playhouse in June 2007. Over 300 attended the concert, which featured five high school and college bands.
